“Senpai…?”
Sho held up one hand, muttering to himself as he checked and double checked the figures that didn’t match up. The twins would be upset if he couldn’t figure out what was wrong with this.
“Senpai, it’s kind of important…” Shizuka’s voice trembled, a mix of confusion and… something like excitement?
The young man looked up. “What is it?”
She stood nervously next to his desk, fidgeting with the cord of her stop watch. “Happy birthday!” Shizuka suddenly gushed, her face turning redder.
“What—”
“There’s someone here to see you!” The small girl grabbed his hand and tugged him to his feet. “He insisted that he must see you as soon as possible!!”
“Shizuka-san, you misunderstand—today is not my birthday—!”
She hesitated, still holding onto his wrist. “It’s… not?”
“No.”
“Then——…”
The door to the student council room slammed open and a delightful voice cried out, “Shoooo~chama!”
Shizuka squeaked and darted behind Sho. “I’m sorry, Senpai! I didn’t know that was a part of your daily private life! I hope your love stays beautiful and flourishes forever!!” She bustled around the room, grabbing her paper-work as Sho stared wide-eyed at the figure in the door-way. “Please excuse me!” And then she was out of the room.
“Who was she?”
The student council president let out a frustrated sigh. “I thought I told you not to visit me at school, Dave.” He dropped into a chair, suddenly feeling very exhausted.
Dave grinned, crossing the room. “Why? Got some kind of private life what you’re hiding from me?” he teased.
Sho stumbled to his feet and put the chair between himself and the approaching male. “For Christ’s sake, Dave, at least have the decency to put on some clothes—even just pants would be great.” He reached back to his desk and grabbed his uniform jacket. “Put this on,” he grumbled, flinging it across the room. “You’re terrifying my students.”
“Hummmm~” Dave sighed, catching the jacket and hugging it against his bare chest. “Then she was your kouhai?”
“Student council secretary. Now put that on.” Sho pulled a pair of track pants out of a bag by his feet. “These, too.”
The dark-haired male frowned as he accepted the pants. “Sho-chama, don’t give me your dirty PE clothes.”
“Don’t come visit me at school wearing nothing but… underwear.”
Dave made a haughty sound as he started to put on the pants. “It’s so fun to see everyone’s reactions There are some guys that stare at me the way I wish you would~”
The door to the student council room slid open again, and Sho looked up to see the Suzu twins staring with totally unimpressed faces.
“Oh,” Sao said.
“Email the final figures to us before Monday,” Miu said.
The door slid shut.
“Who were they?”
“Get dressed; we’re leaving before you can ruin my reputation even more.” Sho lamented to think what kind of rumors might start spreading.
“So unloving,” Dave whined as he finished putting on the pants and slipping his arms into the sleeves of the jacket.
------------
“Sho-chama, wake up.”
“Get out of my room, pervert,” Sho grumbled, pulling the blankets over his head and rolling on his side.
“Sho-chama, you’re supposed to take me out today.” Dave’s fingers played across the young man’s shoulder blades where the sheet stretched tight over them. “We never get to see each other. Now that we have a holiday, I’d like to get to hang out with you.”
With a disgruntled groan, Sho rolled over onto his back and rubbed his face with a hand. He glared at Dave with one eye.
The young man was kneeling next to his bed, looking down and playing with the edges of the sheets. He had a look of guilty disappointment on his face.
Sho groaned again, this time covering his face with both hands. “Damnit, don’t give me that look…”
Dave perked up slightly, but kept the pitiful look on his face. “My apologies, Sho-chama.”
“Shut up. Listen, just let me get some more sleep. It’s only 6:30 on a Saturday morning, so don’t wake me up so early. We’ll go out after breakfast.” That being the final decision, Sho rolled back over onto his side and faced the wall.
Grinning and feeling just a little victorious, the other male nodded in agreement.
Sho held his breath, listening for the sound of Dave leaving his room, but was only rewarded with additional weight on the mattress. “What the hell?!” he yelped, nearly jumping out of his skin and flinging one arm backwards. When he rolled over to look, he saw that he had knocked Dave half out of the bed.
Dave was frowning, no longer feeling too victorious, but doing his best to keep on the injured puppy look from before. “We used to do this all the time when we were kids.”
“Out.”
“But—”
“Get out before I change my mind about taking you out today!” He pointed to the door.
Looking very much like a dog with its tail between its legs, Dave hunched his shoulders and shuffled towards the door. “Shall I come wake you up in an hour, Sho-chama?”
“No. I have an alarm clock for a reason. Out. Now.”
Sho didn’t relax even after the door closed with a soft click.
