[[ Tag for Nobumaru ]]
It had been a long day for everyone at the police department. Not only had the Detective Prince, Naoto Shirogane, recently gone missing after his interview at the news station not too long ago, but it was also the first day of summer vacation. He'd been hearing all day from Dojima-san about his nephew, and how the kid would have all sorts of time for his crazy business. Adachi wasn't really concerned with what kinds of trouble those kids would get into, but listened with an eager ear anyway, hoping to please the older man.
Indeed, the day had been long, hot, and restless. It was the perfect opportunity to go out with one of his colleagues for some booze. Of course, Dojima didn't seem to be interested in the offer tonight, much too concerned with other paperwork and such. And of course, Dojima was really the only person in the entire department Adachi really could call a "friend". And yet somehow, he had found himself hesitantly asking Nobumaru instead.
He was still questioning what possessed him to do that, however amusing it was.
Yet beside the detective at the smokey bar was Nobumaru, ordering himself a drink. A grin lit his face as he watched the older man, whom didn't appear quite as pleased to be at the bar as Adachi felt. Still, it was nice to have the company, no matter how sour the person seemed at first glance.
Adachi hadn't actually gotten to know Nobumaru very well since his arrival as the captain of the riot force, and they only came into contact once in a blue moon. And when they did see each other, it wasn't like the other man acted particularly friendly towards the younger detective. Well, he didn't really seem friendly to anyone in general. However, being partnered with someone like Dojima, who enjoyed shouting and ordering, Adachi came to get used to that sort of person.
But Nobumaru seemed a little darker, somehow, and it was nerve-wracking. Adachi liked it.
The detective was snapped out of his mind-babble when the waiter looked to him, asking if he wanted anything to drink. Flushed, Adachi put asked simply for a margarita (h-hey, it tastes good...), and sheepishly looked over to his "drinking buddy" once the server was gone.
They hadn't said much to each other yet, and what better time then now? Grinning, the younger officer directed his attention to Nobumaru, wondering what they could possible talk about before some stupid string of words spilled from his mouth. The only thing he could relate to at the moment was the police department.
"Fending off lots of riots lately, Nobumaru-san? Inaba sure is a lively place, isn't it?" Sarcasm of course. Inaba was the most boring hell-hole he'd ever had the non-pleasure of getting stuck in. "It's nice to drink your problems away once in a while to clear your mind. Especially when you have a friend to do it with, haha."
