Name: Daisuke Nagase
Age: 16
Date of Birth: July 28, 1995
Gender: Male
Occupation: Student
School: Yasogami High
Class: 2-3
Personality: He's rough around the edges, but don't be fooled; underneath all of that dirt and sweat is a genuine sweetheart and a good soccer player. Daisuke is a guy who likes to poke fun at his friends, but never for cruelty. He's always willing to help a friend or a friend of a friend or just some poor soul who everyone else is determined to hate, so long as that poor soul is willing to try too. Unlike the rest of the team, who can be prejudiced against city slickers, he's determined not to make assumptions and prefers to be on a team where everyone works together and gets along.
He seems to attract girls to him, but Daisuke always gets incredibly awkward around females and often says something rude without really meaning it. He also has this habit where he doesn't always give things his all, because he's afraid of failure and getting hurt, so thinks it better to just go along without risking everything. This, of course, only applies to himself; when it involves his friends, Daisuke will do anything and everything to help them out, regardless of how odd or humiliating (for him) it is.
Positive Characteristics Loyal, energetic, open-minded, humorous, charismatic, skilled at soccer
Negative Characteristics Awkward around girls, doesn't always put forth his full effort, short-tempered
Appearance:
Clubs: Soccer
Statistics:
Knowledge: Informed
Courage: Daring
Expression: Rough
Diligence: Rock Solid
Understanding: Kindly
History: Daisuke is to soccer as his best friend Kou is to basketball. In other words, he loves the sport and is incredibly good at it. He and Kou have been best friends for years and so treat each other as brothers, which includes the loyalty and insult-tossing BECAUSE THAT'S WHAT BROS DO.
However, Daisuke did once have more in his life than soccer. To be precise, he had a girlfriend in middle school, but they never even held hands and he was always nervous around her. His girlfriend eventually broke up with him, saying that the "real" Daisuke was the one on the field. This broke Daisuke's heart, and from then on, he decided to give all girls the cold shoulder. He didn't want to get close to any of them out of fear that once he grew to like them enough, they would reject him and he'd be hurt again. This attitude was mirrored in his soccer playing, so that he no longer threw himself into playing the way he'd used to. The only thing that made him do his best was when his friends needed that extra push and support.
Daisuke is the Social Link for Strength if you choose to join the soccer club.
Did you read the rules?: I will pursue my true self dammit--
Writing Sample: It wasn't something he thought about that much, and that might have been deliberate. No, he was pretty sure that it was deliberate. He could focus on soccer, could focus on getting Kou to pay for their next meal at Aiya-- hell, he could even focus on homework and exams when he had to, but those were all safe things.
He'd thought Inaba was safe, too, but ever since the murders started taking place, Daisuke was beginning to have his doubts. Maybe one could have been explained. But two-- three-- no. He didn't like it. Two of the victims had been from his own school; he couldn't just ignore it. Anybody could have been next, dammit! What if it was someone from his team? Or worse-- Kou or Souji? He didn't even know who the damn culprit was, or he would have planted his cleat so far up the bastard's ass for even thinking of messing with his hometown.
Daisuke growled under his breath, then stood up, grabbing his soccer ball and heading outside. It wasn't like him to worry, especially when he didn't know who it was and who might be next. For now, all he could do was watch over the people important to him.
And practice his passing.
