Name: Teddie
Age: Unknown
Date of Birth: Unknown
Gender: Male
Occupation: Resident Bear Mascot
School: No school.
Class: No class.
Personality: Teddie is eccentric, annoying, bothersome, and all those other words that pretty much mean the same thing. He's got a sort of obnoxious quality to him that just makes him really rub the wrong way. To easily-annoyed people, that is. To those who can relax and easily have a good time, Teddie is an... interesting person to be around. He's got a sort of charm about him that girls tend to like, meaning Teddie is rather popular with the girls (the ones not on the Investigation Team). Maybe it's just the way he sparkles, who knows.
He wasn't born here, and he's not really human, so he doesn't really have most of the concepts of self-restraint and ediquete that those who grew up in this world do have. Or maybe it's just his dramatic nature, as Teddie really likes to play up the dramatic and go all-out. However he's a very happy, cheerful person in general, and it takes a lot to get him upset. He's also very willing to please, and will do almost anything if it makes someone happy.
He's a bit naive and innocent about the world though, as obviously he wasn't born there and doesn't really know much about it. He tends to believe whatever he's told, not knowing much to begin with. He ultimately aims to 'score' with a girl, and he's always bringing it up at awkward moments. That and TV jingles/taglines, as Teddie loves TV. Which he should, coming from the TV world and all.
A very, BEAR-y important thing about Teddie is his bear puns. If there's a possible bear-pun open, he'll take the chance. Oftentimes these puns are at very inappropriate moments and no one, not even Yukiko, can find them funny. Teddie still makes then, even though everyone cringes when he makes a pun at an inopportune moment. Or if it's just really stupid, which it usually is.
His Shadow revealed a negative part of Teddie's personality, his hatred of being alone and of not knowing what his purpose in life is. He does not want to go back to being alone in the TV world, and got visibly sad every time the Investigation Team had to leave him in the TV world. He is happy with his friends, and even though he was once a Shadow, he has accepted that and moved on.
Positive Characteristics + Optimistic + Cheerful + Charming + Cute/innocent + Can easily break awkward silences
Negative Characteristics - Annoying - Too flirtatious - Too innocent - Tends to say things at awkward moments - Did I mention annoying? - Mischievous - Can't stand being alone/useless
Appearance: Teddie has two forms, really. Two different appearances. In his bear-suit, the first form that he's seen in, Teddie is a bright red/white/blue/tanish/yellow, very round, oval-shaped bear. His bear-suit looks kind of like a typical mascot suit, what with the comically big eyes and tiny arms, ears, clown-like outfit, etc. However, unlike a mascot-suit, Teddie can make facial expressions and such in his bear-suit, probably due to the fact that it's not really a suit, but his real form.
In the real world, Teddie created himself a human form so he could interact with humans better. In the real world, his bear-suit becomes just that, a suit, and he is able to take it off. Inside the suit he takes the form of a blond teenager. He is very... well, pretty for a boy, and he can also sparkle at will. No joke.
Anyway, in this form Teddie has short blond hair that is swept off to the side. His eyes are bright blue, and he looks like your usual blond-haired, blue-eyed prettyboy. He has a very thin form and isn't all that tall, either. Teddie usually wears a frilly shirt with a red flower on it, and that shirt is usually open and revealing a lot of his chest.
Just a note, when in bear form, Teddie's feet squeak. Loudly. And all the time. There is no fix for this, either. His feet tend to squeak the loudest in dungeons.
Clubs: No clubs.
Statistics: Knowledge: Aware Courage: Daring Expression: Touching Diligence: Strong Understanding: Generous

History: Teddie was not always a human, or even human-formed. Or even bear-formed, for that matter. He was born as a Shadow, a being inside the TV World. But unlike most Shadows that are mindless and somewhat violent, Teddie was different. He had emotions and feelings, and he decided he didn't want to be a Shadow anymore. In order to make himself more approachable and to actually make friends with humans, Teddie takes on his bear-like form. He wants to make beary good fri-- okay I will stop.
In the process of transforming into his bear-suit form, Teddie temporarily forgets all his memories about being a Shadow and what Shadows do. He only knows of the TV World from when he decided to take on his bear form, and has no memory of the TV World before all the fog came. He only knows that his world wasn't always like that, and he wants to correct it. He can also sense that people are being thrown in the TV, something that will be a great help later on.
Soon after the first few humans are thrown into the TV, even more come into the TV World, and Teddie is visibly annoyed with them. He met the protagonist and co. and pushes them out because the Shadows are getting agitated, meaning it's too dangerous for any of them to be there. The next time Souji and Yosuke come back into the TV, Teddie accuses them angerly of being the one who has been pushing people into his world. Teddie refuses to believe them when they claim they aren't the real culprits, and makes them promise to find the real killer in order to prove their own innocence. Yosuke, in turn, orders Teddie to remove his bear-suit so they can see what he really looks like... only to see that the inside of Teddie's bear-suit is beary empty. ... yeah.
Now that Yosuke and Souji are on his side, Teddie gives the both of them a pair of glasses that lets them see through the fog. He takes them to where he last sensed a human in the TV World, and of course there's Shadows all over the place. Souji surprises Teddie by summoning his Persona and defeating them easily. Finally, someone who can defeat them! For Teddie, who had been forced to hide from the Shadows for such a long time, he is completely enamored with his new 'Sensei', and would do anything for him. So he decides to be their support, becoming the support-character for a while.
A few months go by, and the Investigation Team ends up rescuing quite a few people. Namely Chie, Yukiko and Kanji. No one really seems to be focusing on Teddie and what he really is due to all the rescuing and such they have to do. The only thing that brings up the fact that Teddie is different is what happened when rescuing Rise and fighting her Shadow.
It started out as a normal rescue and a normal Shadow fight. Until Rise's Shadow did something different and used her special scanning ability, allowing her to avoid any attack that went her way. Nothing could hit her, and the Investigation Team looked like they were going to lose. Though usually Teddie does bear-ly anything to help in fights other than tell them how many enemies there are, he steps forward and faces Rise's Shadow himself.
Long story short, Teddie goes BEARserk and completely destroys Rise's Shadow. And completely flattened, his beautiful fur ruined. Forever (not really). So Teddie mourns for his beautiful fur and Rise confronts her Shadow. All is well, right? Not quite. Rise's acceptance of her Shadow led Teddie to think some dangerous thoughts, especially ones about who he really is, and if he even has a "true self".
Naturally, these questions always lead to something bad happening, and Teddie's Shadow appears. It taunts him about being too naive and ignoring his real nature, the fact that he is actually a Shadow. Teddie refuses to hear it, and denies his Shadow much like all the others. And like all the others, Teddie's Shadow transforms into a monsterous form and attacks the group. It is the form of a giant Teddie, but with pieces of his face gone and blackness under him. It's one of the scariest Shadows in the game. It is BEARy frightening.
Finally the team defeats his Shadow, and Teddie accepts the truth about himself and that he has much to learn, but he knows his friends will see him through it... you know, all that cheesey stuff. The team takes Rise home, and Teddie vows to train stronger and improve his performance in battle. And, you know, get less-flat and stuff. That'd be important.
Anyway, when the group next sees Teddie he isn't even in the TV World. He actually left! Deciding that he doesn't want to be alone anymore, he makes the choice to live with everyone in the real world, rather than the TV World. For the time being, at least. Yosuke takes him in, a choice which he will probably regret. A lot.
It is also BEARy worth noting that while in the human world Teddie worked out and grew himself a body. An attractive human body, you know, so he could interact with humans even better. And he sparkles, too.
Did you read the rules?: I will BEARsue my true self~.
Writing Sample: Man, Yosuke's house was boooooring. Especially when Yosuke went out and just left him there, all alone! What was Teddie supposed to do all day? He didn't go to school, and he wasn't working at Junes today. Teddie probably shouldn't have accepted any days off at all if he was going to be this bored. Well it's not like he knew or anything. Oh well, he had to stop complaining! He was a smart bear, he could find something to do!
And the little TV looked promising. He'd never really noticed it before, but it wasn't often Teddie had days off. Teddie loved TV, so he was surprised that he'd never noticed this little one before. It looked a lot different than the other TVs, though. It was connected to a rectangle under Yosuke's desk, and it had a board with lots of letters on it. A... keyboard! Oh, wait, he he knew what this was! It was Yosuke's computer! The one he wasn't allowed to touch.
He sat down on the chair and amused himself by spinning for a few seconds before actually looking at the computer itself. So, how to work it? He mimiced the way he'd seen Yosuke using the computer before, and moved the little mouse-thing off to the side. The computer blinked to life and Teddie amused himself some more by following the curser on the screen as he moved it around.
Eventually he figured out how to get on the Internet, beary, beary curious about it. He'd heard kids at Junes talking about things they'd read on "the Internet", and Teddie was curious. The Internet sounded fun! Teddie amused himself for a while on different websites, clicking on the colorful games off to the side and clicking on the little buttons that told him he won! Teddie wasn't sure what he won, since when he clicked on those sites he was greeted by a wall of text he didn't feel like reading, but the satisfaction of winning was enough for Teddie! Who'd have thought that he'd be the lucky 100000's visitor?!
After a while Teddie noticed that it had gotten really late, and he quickly shut all the windows he had open and tried to make it look like he hadn't been on it. He jabbed at the button on the monitor, and the screen went dark, just like it had been before Teddie touched it. Good, that meant he'd hidden his tracks well! So Teddie went back to watching TV, not at all worried about the millions of viruses he'd just put on Yosuke's computer. But hey, he didn't know, so it was all good. He'd be forgiven!
Note: Cat formally appologizes for all the terrible bear puns in this application and those that are to follow.

Nice to see we've got a Teddie! You're accepted. Welcome to the BEAR-d!
...You get it, because it's board and 'boar' sounds like 'bear' and...
...I'm not good at this bear pun thing. ;_;
