"Thank you! Someone will be buy from the inn to pick everything up tomorrow. Goodnight!" Yukiko called out behind her as she stepped out of one of the shops along the Central Shopping District, pausing just under the rickety old overhang above her to stare at the rain. She was running an errand for the inn, like she did so many times, but she'd been at it for a a couple of hours now, stopping at various stores with a long list her mother had, arranging for additional orders due to some special pre-summer something or other.
It actually surprised her, standing there, that she didn't know what the special event was. Three months ago, she would've known what it was, how many people were involved, when they were going to arrive and leave, everything. And yet now, well...it just didn't seem so important anymore.
And that realization made her smile a rather silly sort of smile as she reached out to scoop up her umbrella from where it was leaning on the wall, popping it open and stepping out into the rain. This was the last stop she had to make, which meant she could head home and do her homework or maybe call Chie. Do something so that the evening wasn't a complete wash.
Her black boots sent up little waves of water as she made her way down the street, intending to head to the fact end and the bus-stop, but she found herself pausing now as she passed the tofu store. She'd stopped there hundreds of times, eaten there probably just as many, and yet she never really noticed it when it wasn't her destination.
But now that Rise was there, now that they'd saved her, it was suddenly not just the tofu-shop, but the home of someone who she supposed was now her friend. Which was strange...she hadn't gotten used to the idea of having a lot of friends, really. For the longest time, there had been Chie. And...pretty much just Chie. The fact that there was Souji and Yusuke and Teddie and Kanji...and now Rise, well...it was strange. But it was a nice sort of strange.
There were a couple rather disreputable looking men standing around outside, probably the last few lingering photographers hoping to get a shot of 'Risette in her natural surroundings' or something equally useless. Yukiko had never been much of a fan of the idol, so she didn't really understand the feeding frenzy the girl seemed to trigger.
If anything, Rise seemed like a fairly normal girl, if a bit...well...spazzy. Although that had been mostly hidden by how tired the other was after they had rescued her.
You should go check up on her. Her brain supplied as a perfectly valid excuse to go and say Hi to her new friend, so she she sucked in a breath and moved past the photographers, ignoring them as she stepped under the front of the store and closed her Umbrella, then walked inside quietly.
The place seemed mostly empty, aside from a woman Yukiko was pretty sure was Rise's grandmother working behind the counter. She'd met the woman hundreds of times before, every time she'd been in the shop, but had never spokent o her much beyond the basic need to order her food. "Uhm, hello." She said, offering the woman a slightly nervous sort of smile as she reached the counter. "Is Rise home? I...am a friend of hers, I wanted to see how she was doing."
