Yosuke watched the little girl go, glad she was feeling good enough to move but also worried about her pushing herself too far. "Yeah she did. She's so smart for her age." He really hoped that they didn't come across a question that Nanako didn't know. Because if she didn't know, he probably didn't either.

"Hey," Nanako chimed, coming back from the kitchen to see her cousin whispering something to his friend. "No cheating!" She immediately snuggled back in between Souji and Yosuke, rebundling herself in the blankets that she had jumped out of a second ago. While waiting for the next question, she scrawled "Yosuke and Nanako Team ^3^~<3" across the top of the notepad. "Now we can write our answers on here!" she told the red-head next to her, placing the notepad between them and the pen on top of it.
"And for the next question!" the announce chimed, holding out his cards in an authoritative manner. "This will be a good one for all you math buffs! How many numbers between 0 and 100 are divisible by both 6 and 8?"
Nanako looked up at Yosuke, hoping he knew his multiplication tables better than she did. "What do you think?"

"No kidding, huh?" Souji whispered back, not without a touch of pride, "I don't know where she gets it. My uncle never struck me as the academic type. Besides--" He didn't finish, startled by Nanako's good natured chiding. Moving a little away from his friend so that Nanako could plop down between them, the older boy positioned a pillow behind her back to ensure she wouldn't slump into an uncomfortable position and offered her a warm smile.
"Wouldn't dream of it, kiddo." Souji turned his attention back to the screen, scrutinizing the question thoughtfully. They'd just gone over this in class a few weeks ago -- he remembered because Yosuke had asked him for the answer to this very question. Feeling confident, he looked over at Yosuke with a smug expression, wanting to savor his iminent victory.
His friend wasn't looking at him, however. Rather, his head was dipped low next to Nanako's in such a way that his choppy bangs fell into his eyes. He wore an expression of deep concentration which, given the context, was just a little cute. Souji wondered idly if Yosuke remembered the answer -- or even that he had given it to him.
Souji blinked, suddenly breaking himself from his distracted study of Yosuke's face. What was the answer? He'd just had it -- was it really possible to leave his head so quickly? More than a little embarrassed with himself, he looked away from where Yosuke and Nanako had their heads pressed together and grasped desperately for the number.

It hadn't been all that long ago that Souji had told Yosuke the answer to that very question, but it escaped him at the moment. He felt like a bad friend for not remembering it, but then again, he didn't remember much.
"I don't know Nanako-chan. Let me see the pad." When she gave it to him, Yosuke hurridly scribbled all the multiples of six and eight he knew, circling the ones that matched.

Nanako had obediently handed over the pad to Yosuke when he asked for it, looking over his shoulder as he started to scribble out equations. She could only think of one--24--which, considering the fact that most first graders don't know multiplication wasn't too bad, but the others she couldn't figure out. Of course, whatever 6 x 8 was would be one of the numbers, so there are two. Beyond that... she didn't have a clue.
"You think you have the answer, Kurada-san?!" the announcer said excitedly, drawing the little girl's attention back to the TV screen. "Do you know how many numbers between 0 and 100 are divisible by 6 AND 8?"
"That would four: 24, 48, 72, and 96."
"Right you are! Did you all notice how they're all twenty-four numbers apart? Now, for the next question--"
"Oh..." Nanako said softly, tilting her head to the side in thought. "Did you get it, Big Bro?"
